Thala Ajith’s Yennai Arindhaal which was released on 5th February took a monstrous opening worldwide and almost fetched around INR 60 crores from just the opening weekend alone. The movie despite being termed as slow paced by few critics and audience,  but  was appreciated for the performance, of both Actor Ajith and Arun Vijay. The movie in general also received good reviews overall. Yennai Arindhaal took a bumper opening in Tamilnadu by grossing around 32 Crores(without adding the special show collections  throughout Tamilnadu). The movie performed extra ordinarily in key overseas circuits like Australia, New Zealand, U.S.A. In other Indian circuits like Kerala and Karnataka the movie did quite a decent biz. Considering its less cost.

With the movie already raking in around 100 crores in 3 weeks it will be very interesting to see whether how well the movie fares in Telugu version(Release by this month end) . Yennai Arindhaal during the first weekend of its release witnessed occupancy % ranging above 90% throughout the weekend and during the 2^nd week despite a considerable drop in occupancy % especially in the single screens across the state still did manage to receive decent turnout particularly for the evening and night shows in single screens and in multiplexes it’s doing pretty good with good occupancy %  in big cities.
